Making a motorbike claim. Could I be entitled to compensation?

To find out if you have a valid claim call us at Imperium Law on 0800 633 5730. We are here to get you the compensation you deserve.

Accidents involving motorbikes are common on UK roads, and riders who are involved in a collision with a car, van or lorry are more likely to be injured or killed than the driver of the other vehicle.

According to Government figures motorbikes make up 1% of the UK's total traffic, however riders who have been killed make up 19% of all road fatalities. In fact motorcyclists are around 38 times more likely to be killed in an accident than the occupants of a car.

While the number of riders killed each year has fallen, figures show that there are still over 300 fatalities each year on UK roads. In addition just under 5,000 riders are hurt each year with injuries ranging from minor bruising and cuts to more serious neck and back injuries.

Claim case example.

Ms P was awarded £1.4 million in compensation after a 10mph crash left her paralysed from the waist down.

At Imperium Law we are dedicated to winning motorcyclists the maximum compensation payout possible.

Ms P was studying at university to become a physiotherapist with the intention of joining the army as an officer. She was involved in an accident in London while filtering through standing traffic. A car illegally reversed over a raised curb knocking her off her bike into the road.

At the time of the accident she suffered a broken leg, whiplash and a strain to her shoulder. The recovery time was estimated at 6 months, however she developed a condition known Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), which is a chronic systemic disease. Ms P's physical condition rapidly deteriorated and soon was paralysed and confined to a wheel chair.

It was shown that the driver of the car had breached their duty of care and had caused the accident because of their negligent driving.

Ms P's compensation award took over 5 years to be agreed, with a judge finding in her favour. She was awarded a significant payout to compensate her for her pain, suffering, loss of earnings, ongoing medical care and modified home.

If you have been hurt or a loved one has been killed in a motorbike accident caused by the negligence of another party, a call to Imperium Law can get you the compensation you deserve.
